In plain English, because you should not have to read legalese to find out how a site makes money.
The short version
Tray & Toast earns a commission when you buy something through a link on this site. It costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price you would have paid going direct. It has never decided which product we recommend or the order we rank them in.
The Amazon Associates statement
Tray & Toast is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Amazon is currently the only retailer we have an affiliate relationship with. If that changes, this page will be updated before any such link goes live.
How the links work
Product links on this site pass through a redirect on our own domain before going to the retailer. That lets us keep every link in one place so they can be updated when a product moves, and it lets us measure which recommendations people find useful. It does not change where you end up or what you pay.
Every earning link is marked up with rel="sponsored nofollow", which is how you tell search engines a link is commercial. Every buy button on the site carries a visible #ad label and a link back to this page.
What the commission does not buy
- It does not buy a position. If a cheaper product is the better buy, it goes first. We have picked lower-commission products over higher-commission ones and will keep doing so.
- It does not buy inclusion. We do not accept payment to feature a product, and we do not run sponsored posts.
- It does not buy a review. We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
- It does not buy approval. No manufacturer or retailer sees a page before it publishes.

About prices
We do not print prices on this site. Prices change constantly and a number typed into a page in September is wrong by November, so every product button sends you to the live listing to see today’s price. Where our system carries verified live price data it is shown with the date it was checked and it expires automatically after 48 hours rather than going stale.
Any price you see at the retailer at the time of purchase is the one that applies. We have no control over retailer pricing, stock or availability.
Cookies
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set a cookie that attributes a subsequent purchase to this site. That is how affiliate programs work and it is the mechanism by which we get paid. Our privacy policy covers what data is involved.
